Litigation is time consuming and expensive, so it is always advisable to negotiate a settlement of legal disputes whenever possible. However, some disputes cannot be settled either because the parties cannot come to terms or as a consequence of the specific relief sought (e.g. attachment, eviction, injunction, etc). Under such circumstances it is necessary to seek relief in the Courts, and litigants need an experienced advocate to protect their interests. Mr. Stein has extensive litigation experience in several areas, including: breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, breach of warranty, conversion, fraud/misrepresentation, misappropriation and unjust enrichment. He has worked on cases ranging from small claims to multimillion dollar lawsuits, and will fight to ensure his client’s rights are protected regardless of whether they appear before the Court as plaintiff or defendant.
Domestic Relations deals with several family related matters including divorce, separation, alimony, child custody and support. Drafting Prenuptial and Separation Agreements, representing clients in both contested and uncontested divorces, as well as setting or modifying child custody/visitation orders are all services provided. Mr. Stein will vigorously fight to ensure his clients receive a fair division of all marital property, and provide equitable terms for alimony in any contested divorce. In addition, Mr. Stein works in the Juvenile Courts handling paternity matters including establishing or refuting parentage, and setting or modifying child support/visitation.

Simple steps taken now can ensure your property will pass quickly to the intended beneficiaries. Crafting a Last Will and Testament, drafting a Durable Power of Attorney and/or Living Will, acting as Administrator/Executor of an Estate and handling Probate matters are services provided. In addition, Mr. Stein occasionally works as a guardian ad litem for the Probate Court of Davidson County.
